Motion picture film making as we can appreciate, began 130 years ago – in the 1890s with the creation of motion picture filming cameras. At that moment in time, that basic equipment was able to create only one minute long films – quite a difference from today’s full featured, full length films and documentaries. This started the creation of motion picture studios.

Back then, all movies were silent and it wasn’t until the late 1920s that equipment progressed enough to make film with sound. But in spite of the fact that there was nothing to hear, motion picture films became very popular. Stories and even world news, were translated to film and viewed as entertainment. After the Technological Revolution, and the electrification of manufacturing facilities, people had more time on their hands to be entertained. By the end of WWll, moving pictures were regularly showing in Arkansas theaters and the trend had gotten hold. The rest is history.
